Technique Geeks-Spotlighting

The first Tuesday of each month is Technique Geeks. I have some gals who come and enjoy a few hours out, making three sample cards and three full size cards using the technique that is introduced.

A few months back we did this in one of my Technique Geeks Class. The technique is called Spotlighting.

We used Thoughts and Prayers and stamped in Chocolate Chip. Just a simple card using Kraft (renamed Crumb) and Very Vanilla.

June 1st is the last class for the year. I will resume them in September. They were well received and I am looking forward to more in the fall.

I love it when friends send me their projects. This is for a close friend of hers that is celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary today. According to Jan, "Its Not Quite Navy and Kraft. The butterflies are Sizzix, sanded on the textured areas to enhance them. Many of the stamped images are from several vintage Stampin Up." Congratulations, Grace and Bob!

Stampin' Up! Retiring Colors NEWS UPDATE:

June 1 - Retiring colors available only “while supplies last”
June 1 - Last Chance list of stamp sets and accessories will be available
June 30 - Last day to order any retiring product (if not out-of-stock)

With Stampin’ Up!’s recent Color Renovation Announcement, we have experienced a spike–much greater than anticipated–in demand for some of our retiring colors. Even with the most careful planning and all of the company’s forecasts from previous color transitions and current buying behaviors, the demand was greatly underestimated.

For re-inkers in retiring colors, as we run out, they will be placed on backorder status and those orders will be filled as quickly as we receive the product. We will continue to do this to the best of our ability through May, and then the re-inkers will be available while supplies last in June.

Card stock presents a bit larger problem, and because of this, textured paper may be substituted for some of the smooth colors–including card stock in 8-1/2″ x 11″ as well as 12″ x 12″–where the smooth is no longer available. You will notice these colors go on backorder, and we will be filling as many of those as possible with textured card stock. Because the demand for each color varies, we are unable to provide a list of what colors of card stock will be substituted with textured, or at what point that will happen. However, if you receive a package of card stock that is textured instead of smooth, there will be a sticker on the package indicating that change.
