Make A Difference!

Haitian Disaster Relief

On January 12, 2010 a magnitude 7.0 earthquake struck Haiti, leaving in its wake devastation so overwhelming that the Haitian people and their leaders can only look for help from the outside to cope.

From now until February 28, 2010, $2 from every I {Heart} Hearts stamp set sold will be donated to the American Red Cross' Haiti Relief and Development Fund. The Red Cross is already well-established in Haiti, and this money will be used to provide immediate relief and long-term support through supplies, technical assistance and other support to help those in need.

Cards For Troops

From Our Hearts is a wonderful organization that received hundreds of card fronts and then makes them into full cards for our troops in Iraq and Afghanistan. Here is a box that I just recently sent to them. You can view the article on their website here.

An excerpt from their website:

"From Our Hearts is a not-for-profit 501c3 that was started by stampers wanting to help service men and women stay in touch with their loved one back home in the States by providing them with quality handcrafted greeting cards. Today, our international effort has sent thousands of cards to our troops in Afghanistan and Iraq, all donated by the huge stamping community world wide."

Please consider sending them your card fronts.

Bella Bleu Love

Hmm! I am gonna be sad when this Designer Series Paper from Stampin' Up! retires! I love the elegance and sophistication of this paper. It marries well with the image from I {Heart} Heart stamp set. I used Love You Much from Well Scripted in Chocolate Chip and added a Kraft Cordoroy Button with Linen Thread.

I {Love} Love For My Honey

I am always looking out for ways to make over cards that use non-Stampin' Up! supplies. Since I am a Stampin' Up! demonstrator, I like to be able to use our high quality cardstock, inks and accessories in my projects. I came across a card last week during my vacation when I was blog surfing. Geez! I didn't realize I had so much time on hands. Must have been during a snowstorm. Here is my rendition.

Razzle Dazzle Melon Mambo

As I was preparing for the Birthday Card Class which was held on Saturday, I usually prepare several cards so that I can decide which ones I will use in class. I had initially prepared this one, with the thought of providing a more feminine card for the assortment. In the end, I picked another card for the class and it received rave reviews. I do hope Stampin' Up! keeps this font or something like it in the 2010-2011 Idea Book and Catalog.

Well Scripted

I am totally lovin' this new stamp set called Well Scripted in the new Occasions Mini Catalog from Stampin' Up! The font is absolutely gorgeous! This card was made for someone at work who got married over the holiday break. I made the patchwork from Flock Together Designer Series Paper. The colors are Tempting Turqoise and Certainly Celery along with Garden Green. I wanted to give a little color in the middle of winter here. Enjoy!

I {Love} Love

The first Tuesday of each month, I hold a Technique Geek class where we make a technique card along with a full size card using the technique. Last night, one of the techniques was the Spotlight technique. Here is another sample using this same technique but in a different way made with the new I {Love} Love wheel in the new Occasions Mini Catalog.

If you would like participate in the next class that will be held on February 2nd, email me and I will add you to the list. Below are some of the technique cards that have been made in the past.

Masculine Birthday Card

Sometimes, it is so hard to come up with something masculine to give to a man on his birthday without it being too girly. I came up with this idea from a layout I saw a while ago. This birthday card is for my aunt's husband. His birthday is coming up and I thought this ought to work. Happy Birthday, John.

Kathy's Birthday

I have quite a few birthday cards for friends and family members to make this week. One card is for our VERY good, longtime friend and neighbor, Kathy. I wanted to share this card and layout that I saw in my blog travels over the past week. Of course, I wanted something special for her as this is a big one for Kathy. With lots of love and kisses from all of us, Happy Birthday, Kathy!
